Third party payers continue to ramp up various types of audits of physician practices. Medicare and Medicaid use audits as a cost-savings tool, but in many cases, practices can counter or appeal audit results with success.
Please join KMA Practice Advocacy Manager Lindy Lady CPC, CPCO whom will demonstrate how physicians and their staffs can prepare for the maze of federal and state audits by having a better understanding of audit and data analysis processes used by Medicare and Medicaid. She will also cover audit defense by discussing how the appeal process can be used effectively for unfavorable audit results. Ms. Lady has more than 35 years of Medicare operations experience, with 10 years spent as a fraud investigator.
KMA will offer this program at four locations throughout the state at a cost of $100 for KMA members (and staff) and $300 for non-members (and staff). Each session also provides 3 American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC) Continuing Education Units (CEU) for certified coders. All attendees will receive a copy of the “KMA Proactive Approach to Audit Compliance” booklet.
